European: Fiorentina sack manager

Fiorentina have sacked manager Emiliano Mondonico after the newly-promoted side's poor start to the season.

It comes just months atfer he was hailed as a hero for returning them to the top flight.

The decision comes the day after the 2-2 draw away to Udinese which leaves them near the relegation zone with seven points from seven games.

Mondonico will be replaced on a caretaker basis by goalkeepers' coach Sergio Buso.
