Injured Chelsea striker Mikael Forssell is hoping to be back playing before the end of the season. The Finnish international has been out of action since August with a serious knee problem. The injury cut short Forssell's loan spell at Birmingham and he returned to Chelsea for treatment on the problem. Forssell is making good progress with the injury and has set his sights on returning to action before the end of the season.

Did they actually sign him or is he still on loan? Great player i don't know why Chelsea never played him. It will be good for Birmingham if they get him back.

Birmingham boss Steve Bruce has poured cold water on reports that Blues have already tied up a deal to take Mikael Forssell back on loan next season.

The Finland international made a huge impression at St Andrews during the 2003-04 campaign, and had been due to spend this term at the club as well.

However, a serious knee ligament injury saw him cut short that spell and he has subsequently appeared for Chelsea after battling back to fitness.

He will go back, especially with the farce of the Pandiali transfer, I think only on loan though.

I thought Mourinhio said he wants to keep him, now does that mean at the club or farm him out again. Why keep him with the other strikers they have and the money.

i dont think chelsea want to let him go for good, if its loan deals he can come back.

he has alot of potential and he does score goals at crappy teams, are they waiting to see how good he can get?

It will be on loan. He does score alot of goals if he plays as the main striker but he is not better than Eider who play as the creative forward and he can't play up top on his own.

i think back at chelsea, he aint a big enough name to glamourise the team to a certain extent

what happened this seasos, him out on loan to come back and play a the 30 odd minutes to rest other players before big games, i can see that happening again.

Yeah, he is a player for the future more than a player for right now.

He's only young, top strikers don't mature until their mid 20's, depends if he wants another crack at Chelski.
