Steve Wigley continues to face opposition to his role as Southampton head coach.
The Premier League announced on Tuesday that Wigley would be allowed to carry on with his duties at St Mary's, even though he does not hold the
requisite Uefa Pro Licence qualification.
But the LMA remains perplexed by the Premier League's stance.
A statement from the organisation read: "The League Managers Association is surprised and disappointed by the decision of the chairmen of the FA
Premier League clubs to permit the board of the FA Premier League to grant a dispensation to Southampton FC, allowing them to retain Steve Wigley in
the position of head coach until 1 August 2005.
"This decision is in complete contradiction to their own rules. The League Managers Association is considering the consequences and implications of
this decision."
Isn't really fair to the other managers, but he will probably get the sack anyway for takng them down!
