Southampton midfielder Matthew Oakley is set for his first competitive game in nearly one year on 28 August.
Oakley, just turned 27, tore cruciate ligaments against Middlesbrough last September but has targeted the game against Chelsea for his comeback.
"It has been a hard year," Oakley told the club's website. "I will probably be a stronger player when I get back - especially mentally.
"I should be hitting my peak in my next two years as well."
Oakley added: "If I can put this injury right and get my strength back, which I am quite confident I can do, than this year should be a good one for
me."
