Danny Williams is set to meet Vitali Klitschko for the WBC world heavyweight crown in America on 11 December.
The fight against the Ukrainian is "99% certain" to be at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Williams, 31, upset former undisputed champion Mike Tyson in July, prompting promoter Frank Warren to secure the British fighter a title shot.
"I always believed I would get to the top. Now that I'm here I'm going to make the most if it," said Williams.
"I am grateful for the opportunity and I know I am fighting one of the best heavyweights in the world but I am determined to bring the world title back to Britain.
