Boxing: Cook retains European crown

Nicky Cook retained his European featherweight title with a convincing points win over French champion Johny Begue at Brentwood International Arena.

Cook, making his first defence after stopping another Frenchman, Cyril Thomas, in nine rounds in March, had too much skill for 36-year-old Begue.

The judges' scores of 119-108 twice and 118-109 told the story of a fight which the Dagenham man controlled.
