Oscar De La Hoya narrowed his eyes and spoke with a convincing conviction in his voice, when he said to Chris Rose and company of the Best Damn Sports Show Period!, "I'm gonna beat this guy. I told you last time Chris, I'm gonna beat this guy. I'm ready to beat this guy."

All along I believed Bernard Hopkins would decimate De La Hoya but second thoughts are beginning to weaken my faith in the Philadelphian.

As John Salley informed Oscar that Hopkins earlier in the week called him a "punk" and a "sissy" while showing a video of Hopkins speaking the insults, when the cameras focused back live on Oscar, you saw a deadly serious fighter. After a momentary pause as if to memorize the exact insult for future purposes, a fierce looking De La Hoya replied, "I'll show him what a punk and a sissy I am on Saturday night." The he added, "After what happens on Saturday night, he's gonna feel like he got punk'd (a reference to the MTV show)."
