Boxing: Ricardo Mayorga: ''There Is No Escape''

Boxing fans almost had a heart attack when they heard that Ricardo Mayorga might be dropped from the upcoming superfight with Felix Trinidad when he was arrested on the charge of rape in his country. Mayorga has cleared up his legal issures for the moment and is more then ready for his scheduled October 2nd bout with Trinidad, which takes place in Madison Square Garden. BoxingScene caught up with Mayorga to see if the latest legal troubles have hurt his preparation for the fight.

Trinidad is going to separate mayorga's head from his body. Im going to love seeing that happen. But mayorga does have a puncher's chance so anything can happen.

Remember Ernie Shavers, helluva puncher but never won the BIG one. Boxers are better than brawlers. The only reason Tyson had that run back in the 80's is because the pool was weak in "boxers." See Holyfield, boxer.

Yeah I do remember Ernie Shavers. He fought for the Heavyweight Title twice and lost both times. He lost a 15RD UD against Muhammad Ali and he was KO'd in the 11th by Larry Holmes in his second attempt to win a title. He had a pretty decent record too.
