Boxing: CLAY-BEY HALTS MAYFIELD IN FIVE

The July 3 ESPN FNF card from Pala, Cal. offered a pugilistic potpourri of mixed talents on display … feature attraction saw veteran Lawrence Clay-Bey halting Imamu Mayfield in stanza six.

Clay-Bey, at a now age 38, showed he could still get the job done if astute when choosing opponents, and Mayfield proved as ideal a selection as they come.

I saw this last night. If these guys are any indication of this weight class, the hardest thing for me would be to make weight, about 20 lbs, I would have kicked either of their butts and I'm 42. Mayfield could have torn Bey's body apart, it was given to him. He should fire his corner immediately for not pointing this out.
