Boxing: Spinks v Gonzalez and Brewster v Meehan confirmed

Undisputed Welterweight Champion Cory "The Next Generation" Spinks make the second defence of his titles against former world champion and World Boxing Council (WBC) No. 1 contender Miguel Angel Gonzalez on Showtime on September 4 at the Mandalay Bay.

In the co-featured bout WBO Heavyweight Champion "Relentless" Lamon Brewster will take on Asian Pacific and Pan Pacific Heavyweight Champion Kali "Checkmate" Meehan of Australia.

"This is as exciting as it gets," promoter Don King said in typically OTT fashion. "Gonzalez is a fierce competitor, but Spinks likes being the undisputed champion. Newly crowned champion Brewster, who knocked out Wladimir Klitschko, is taking all comers starting with Meehan. It is good to be back with our friends at Mandalay Bay on this Labor Day weekend in a great American city."
