Inspired by the tremendous support of Filipinos and Fil-Ams in the US for featherweight “People’s Champion” Manny Pacquiao, the fearless southpaw’s business manager Rod Nazario is planning a series of fight cards between top Philippine prospects and their Mexican counterparts in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Carson City and other venues where there are substantial Filipino and Mexican populations.

Nazario noted that when Pacquiao fought WBA/IBF champion Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas last May 8, thousands of Filipinos and Mexicans flew to Vegas for the fight. Nazario noted that the Filipinos and Fil-Ams from New Jersey, New York and several parts of the US were “not thrifty and spent money even in the casinos” indicating that perhaps the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation or PAGCOR could support plans to stage the Pacquiao-Marco Anonio Barrera rematch in Manila and develop an attractive package for Balikbayans and other fight fans who could combine watching the fight with a Philippine vacation.
