Boxing: Janiola-Martinez clash in IBF eliminator

Cebuano Wyndel "Braveheart" Janiola of the Stonewall Boxing Club figures in an eagerly anticipated showdown against Mexican Jesus Martinez in a International Boxing Federation-sanctioned eliminator in Las Vegas at the end of July or early August.

The winner of the Janiola-Martinez bout will automatically become the mandatory challenger to IBF junior flyweight champ Victor Burgos, revealed IBF championship chairman Lindsey Tucker.

Originally, the IBF No. 5 Janiola was to face No. 4 Erik Ortiz in the eliminator, but the latter was reportedly not keen on facing Janiola after the IBF failed to get any response from Ortiz's camp. Hence, the IBF decided to
contact No. 6 Jesus Martinez.
