WBO world featherweight champion Scott Harrison will be punching challenger William Abelyan with the speed of a Formula One car when the two
fighters meet tonight at the Braehead Arena, according to a university academic.
Dr Niall MacFarlane, a physiology lecturer at Glasgow University, has helped Harrison with his dietary preparations in his last two fights and the
results were there to see when the impressively-toned champion weighed in two ounces under the nine-stone limit in Glasgow yesterday.
Harrison lost his title once to Manuel Medina before regaining it in a rematch but Dr MacFarlane insists the improvement in the Cambuslang fighter -
especially in his hand speed - will give him a massive advantage when he takes on the American-based Armenian in the sixth defence of his
title.
