Associated Press - January 10, 2004

UNCASVILLE, Connecticut (AP) - Jermain Taylor knocked out Alex Rios only 54 seconds into their fight Friday, winning with an overhand right.

Taylor's first-round victory was a decisive win for the undefeated middleweight prospect, who wanted the fight to be a tuneup for a middleweight title shot this year.

i always think that a fight is far to one sided if you are able to knock out your oppent in the first round

Yes it seems like the opponent wasn't really good enough,as he said wanted the fight to be a tuneup for a middleweight title shot this year, hand picked fights are the worse how was that a tuneup? he should have at least gone 5/6 rounds to get something out of it.
