Olivera was expected to win and retain his title, but Ortiz from Venezuela totally out boxed him to take the belt.
Ortiz demonstrated great ring generalship by refusing to allow Olivera to tie him up and maul him inside. Rather Ortiz stuck and moved with lots of
angles and lateral movement.
Ortiz kept the "stick" in Olivera's face, which kept him off balance and also used a bolo style body shot quite effectively throughout the fight.
Olivera became quite frustrated and resorted to faking a low blow that cost Ortiz a point. But even with that phoney display of acting (reply showed
that the punch completely missed) Olivera was totally out-classed and out of his depth.
I must commend the three judges for unanimously awarding the title to Ortiz when the fight was held in New England, Oliver's own area. Ortiz flew in
from Venequela, took care of business and now has a title belt to show for his fine effort.
