Cycling: Cycling race around Puerto Rico to begin on Saturday

ARECIBO (AP) - With the participation of 125 cyclists, the Cycling Tour of Puerto Rico kicks off this Saturday in Arecibo.

"Some 125 athletes will participate in the event,” said Cyclist Federation President Alexis Cruz. “Some of our best cyclists will not be in attendance because they are currently participating in the Panamerican Cycling Championship in Venezuela.”

The first round of the tour will extend from Arecibo to Ponce.

On Sunday the race will course through the island’s eastern municipalities, culminating on Monday in front of Arecibo’s City Hall.
