Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Spain's Francisco Ventoso was victorious in the 20th annual Wachovia USPRO Cycling Championships on Sunday.
The 22-year-old Ventoso sprinted the final 250 meters to claim the win and the $40,000 first-place prize. Antonio Bucciero of Italy finished second in
the 156-mile race through the streets of Philadelphia, while Gord Fraser of Canada took third in the competition.
Germany's Petra Rossner won the women's Liberty Classic earlier in the day. It was an unprecedented seventh title for Rossner in the event.
Afterwards, Rossner announced her retirement from racing outside of Europe.
