Wasps coach Warren Gatland said the Heineken Cup champions had some work to do after nearly letting Calvisano back into the match at the San Michele
ground yesterday.
Wasps held on for a 31-22 victory against a gritty Italian club, but Calvisano's 19-5 "victory" in the second half did not go unnoticed.
"We gave our youngsters a good run-out today and they played well," said Gatland, referring to winger Michael Roberts' hat-trick on his Cup debut.
"It was good Heineken Cup experience for them, however our second half was rather disappointing as they out-scored us three tries to one.
"Having said that, we played really well in the first half and I felt it was over by half-time," the New Zealander said.
"It is very important to win your games, but now with a home and an away win our season is still on track."
