Hull coach Shaun McRae is to leave the KC Stadium at the end of the season to take charge of the South Sydney Rabbitohs in his native Australia.
Hull have offered former England coach John Kear the chance to succeed Shaun McRae, who on Monday ended weeks of speculation over his future by
confirming he is to link up with former chief executive Shane Richardson at South Sydney next season.
McRae, who is the only man to hold a position of head coach throughout the nine seasons of Super League, will see the year out with Hull before
joining Souths for 2005 and 2006.
McRae, an Australian who has been assistant coach at various times to Australia, Great Britain and New Zealand, admitted the decision had been one of
the toughest he has ever had to make but said he felt the time was now right to return home.
