Vince Hogg, the managing director of the Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU), has announced his resignation and will leave the organisation on August 6.

Hogg, who has held the position as the Union's managing director for the past two years and three months, intends to return to commercial work in Zimbabwe.

He said: "The past few months in office have really been strenuous on me. I have decided to resign because I was no longer enjoying the work."

Hogg cited the ongoing dispute between 15 rebel players and the ZCU as the main factor in his decision to quit.

The rebels have refused to represent their country in international matches since Tatenda Taibu replaced Heath Streak as captain earlier this year, meaning Zimbabwe have fielded hugely under-strength teams in Test and one-day cricket.

Zimbabwe also agreed with the ICC on June 10 to postpone all their Test matches which remain in 2004.
