Brian Lara's future as captain of the West Indies looks to be safe for the time being after his side wrapped up a comprehensive victory just after
lunch on the fourth day of the second and final Test against Bangladesh in Jamaica.
After seeing his side held to a draw in the opening match of the two-Test series, Lara claimed he would quit as captain if they failed to beat
Bangladesh, but the result never looked in any doubt after an outstanding performance by Pedro Collins on the morning of the fourth day.
Lara smartly gathered Mohammad Ashraful's wayward drive off Ramnaresh Sarwan's delivery to secure an easy win by an innings and 99 runs, and a 1-0
series victory following the drawn first Test.
