NASCAR: SOOOOO Close!!!!

Yesterday's Indy 500 was phenomenal! If you missed it you are not a true race fan. Dannica Patrick lead for 17 laps but got fourth. I still applaud her effort.

I would disagree with that statement, i consider myself a huge race fan usually taking in 2 or 3 races a year. Indy racing is boring, if it doesn't have fenders it's not a race car. This brings up a good conversation i had with a friend of mine about the fans of Indy racing and NASCAR. You'd be hard pressed to find a fan of Indy racing that likes NASCAR, and vice versa. They are two completely different styles of racing and the other often fails to peak the interest of fans of one. If the Indy 500 was never run again i can't say that i'd miss it at all. It might be the most overhyped race anywhere, i mean it takes them a month to qualify for the darn thing and if they don't like their qualifing speed they can throw it out and do it over until they get one they like.
