Golf: Morrison makes a hit for Surrey

With only two of the six players who steered them into the last four available, Surrey had to dig deep in the English County Finals at Worksop - especially after losing their first match to Leicestershire.

Yet they hung in with admirable tenacity to beat Durham and then defending champions Devon to claim their second title in five years by a whisker.

Leicestershire and Surrey finished with two victories, but Surrey edged to the championship by virtue of scoring 14 points in their three matches – half a point more than Leicestershire could manage.
