Jason Kidd will re-sign with the Nets.

Alonzo Mourning is also going to New Jersey.

Thank goodness he's not going to the Mavericks!

I was really hoping JKidd would resign with the nets- he really is better suited to play with a team like that rather than a half-court offense like San Antonio. Also, he should know that his best chance of making it to the finals every year is with New Jersey. It remains to be seen how Alonzo Mourning adjusts to playing with New Jersey now. Hell, it remains to be seen if he can play in the NBA at all anymore!

This of course raises questions about what San Antonio and Dallas will do now in the offseason. There arent many big name free agents remaining, Dallas was hoping to get Mourning and San Antonio Jason Kidd.

I think San Antonio should try and make an offer to Restricted Free Agent Elton Brand of the Clippers (I doubt they would even try to match a large contract offer from any team) or at least wait until next year to get him. I would also say they shouldve tried to get Jermaine ONeal but he just agreed to re-sign with the pacers

As for Dallas, there arent really many options for them. They could probably get Michael Olowakandi at a bargain since he was injured all of last season. I recall the last few games of the end of the 2001-2002 season he showed some signs of great offense, averaging about 20 points. However he has never proven himself.

I am very happy right now that Kidd resigned with the Nets. There was sepcualtion about where kidd would go...but i know that he would stay in Jersey. He said that he is going to finish what he started. And that means that he is going to win a title with the NEts. and i think that they can do it.

I was thinking this morning about there options with Mourning now in their lineup. They have 3 really good centers and they can really put that to good use. MOunrning could probably play a power forward, and Mutombo at center. And move Matrin to Shooting Forward. And Jefferson to SG. That would be a very big lineup right there. And i would be intimaded by that. Plus they have some top players off the bench. Rogers, Collins, Williams to name a few.

wow those 3 in their 3-5 positions are 3 of the best defenders in the game! Look for LA and NJ in the finals again...I think ZO will come in and play big this year. He last year was his worst and he averaged like 16 points and 9 rebounds a game or something, and I guess he is doing much better now with the medication he is taking and he has such a drive to play well I think he will surprise a few people.

I think that everybody here would agree that the Lakers are going to make it to the Finals this year. THere team looks like a dream Team. Cause Fisher is going to be moved to the bench there bench gets strong very quickly. They also picked up some top picks in the draft.

ON the eastern side you have to member that the Pistons got the second pick in the draft. And they picked Milakic. If he turns out to be a big time player the Pistons will be competeing agaisnt the Nets.

in the papers here in detroit they reporters have been saying that milicec is a great player but wont be a great NBA player until his 3rd year....they said he is trying to be a Tony Kukoc...but we want him to be an Alonzo Mourning...he is still trying to find himself and has a hard time deciding weather he wants to block shots or rebound.

in the papers they said he will try too hard to do lets just say block a shot and then will give up on even trying to get the rebound....so if he doesnt get that block then its not good. The great big guys will try to get the block and if they dont will then for sure get the rebound, like tim duncan. sO they said he has some work to do and alot of things to learn.

hey what about Elton Brand to Miami?? He's a restricted free agent, but I don't know if the Clippers would match the 82 million dollar offer.

Despite currently being a bad team, Miami does show that it at least WANTS to try and be a good team, unlike the Clippers. Elton Brand has been one of my favorite players the last two years and I hate seeing him suffer in LA

Darrell Armstrong signs for 2 years and $6 million with the Hornets.

And Elden Campbell signs an $8.4 million contract with the Pistons over 2 years.

Tough to keep track of all the signings and trades and who is where. I hope the East can sign some good players and balance the talent pool a bit, the Western Conference obviously has much more talent.

Of course the West is stronger, it has been that way for years. Winning the East is meaningless, that is, until now, when the hornets will win it, and bring some respect back to the East. Think the west is simply too in control of the paint? Consider PJ Brown, and Jamaal magloire -- They are the best big men in the East, thus, the East's only hope. Dont even bring up 'Zo or Deke in reply to this, the only thing they are good for is telling stories of the golden days and lessons on how to clean dentures.

I'm not worried about mourning considering he retired. Look how much better the hornets are doing than the Nets now, and that's without their (argueabley) best player, Mashburn. The only team doing as well now is the Pacers and last year they started off well also, and then disapepared as play off time came a round.

pacers are a good team so im not to worried about them...but im worried about the nets without mourning he had to retire early yet again cause of kidney problems its going to be a hard sport to fill considering they traded Mutombo cause of mourning
