not entirely convinced of the accuracy of the far-flung future bit. i think the dates might be off by a year or two. no, seriously, as i understand it the andromeda galaxy should merge with our own in about 10 million years, resulting in the almost-certain destruction of this solar system. well, perhaps almost-certain is a little strong. the astrophysicists i've spoken to here aren't entirely sure what will happen. but its not even mentioned on the timeline! you'd think such a momumental event couldn't possibly be over-looked ...
