American Football: does the road to the Super Bowl run through Seattle?

we haven't had a lot to cheeer about around this part of the country for awhile but i am just about ready to jump on the Seahawks bandwagon, after beating the Giants yesterday they have the best record in the NFC, if the rams had lost yesterday the Hawks would have clinched the division....at 5-0 at Qwest field a home field advantage through the playoffs would be HUGE....yesterday the 12th man contributed to the giants being flagged for 11 false start penalties....if they think that this stadium is loud they should have been in the old Kingdome in the days when it was rockin, while the giants held Alexander to just 16 yards the first half he returned to form and finished the game with 110 yards rushing, they have also had a libeal dose of luck on their side, last week they almost blew a game to the 49'ers, and yesterday the Giant kicker Jay Feeley missed 3 field goal attempts, 2 in overtime....the Hawks have a good looking schedule for the rest of the year with the Colts the only playoff team left to play

with the combination of Seattle January weather and the loudest stadium in the NFL, the Hawks might just be the team to beat in the NFC this year :bounce:

I would say that the road to the Superbowl may just run through Seatle this year. from what i heard last year it was supposed to go through there last year. the NFC championship will most likely be Seatle and either the Bears or the Giants.

I think that it will. At least for the NFC.

Don't forget about the Panther from the South, aegis...

the seahawks rolled to another easy win yesterday, setting franchise records with their 9th straight win and for only giving up 113 total yards to the 49er's, the seahawks scored the first 4 times they had the ball and led by at least 20 the rest of the game....keep your eyes on Seattle this year

Kudos to the 'hawks, I have a couple good friends who are die hard fans, all the way over here in central PA. I do have to keep reminding them, though, where one of those 2 losses came...

After yesterday's trouncing at the hands of the Bucs, i can't say that I expect much from Carolina the rest of the season, either. Go Seattle!

on paper it would appear that way but that's why they play the games.

I've got 2 good friends that are Seahawks fans. Initially, we weren't going to even speak next Saturday, but now we may make a trip to DC to watch the game with the one guy's brother, who's also huge 'skins fan...

the hawks move on even without "Alexander the Great" the northwest is on edge and everyone lives and dies with each play, i had to sleep through most of the game yesterday but we were in the Casino for the last few minutes, was funny to watch the people at the slots, they would get a few spins in, when a play was about to happen they would all stop and watch the game, after the play it was back to spinning those wheels....btw, won 5 dollars there yesterday, it's always a good thing to walk out with more than you went in with :party-smiley-018:

yep, sometimes makes you wonder doesn't it...

next weekend my wife, skyrat, and i will be in Seattle celebrating our 7th anniversary, i am desperatly trying to work out a schedule of places she wants to go all the while avoiding the stadium district, fortunatly the stadiums are in the south side of the city while we live to the north so we should be going when everyone is coming.....she could have worked out our wedding day a bit better i believe

tj, congrats to you and the Seahawks. I watched the game with one buddy of mine who is a HUGE Seahawks fan, we made an agreement to not say anything to each other throughout the game...

i'm looking for a tough close game this weekend, i think the hawks should prevail in the end, they have a good balanced team while the panthers injuries will cost them....hopefully the refs will have a better weekend than they did last week

The big news is that Shaun Alexander will play in Sunday's conference championship game against Carolina. What a boost for them...
