Broadway Chad suffered a dislocated wrist the other day in a pre-season contest agaisnt the Giants. Short tackled Chad from behind as he landed funny on his wrist. He had surgrey on his wrist today but he is still feeling some pain. Vinny is going to take over as starting QB while Chad is out. This is a huge loss for the Jets as they were hopping for a big season from Chad.

I just heard they expect Pennington to be out at least 12 weeks, and 40 year old Vinny Testaverde is back at the helm for the Jets. Its a good thing it was his non-throwing wrist, if it was his throwing wrist I'm sure he'd miss the season but this is still a big setback for the Jets. Vinny is still a good QB but at his age he is not mobile and is one hit away from the Jets having to play their 3rd string QB.

Herman Edwards said he's looking to pick someone up in case Vinny goes down, he said he'll be waiting for teams final cuts to see who is available. He said he is very interested in Jamie Martin who played for the Rams last year when Warner went down and before Bulger came in.

ESPN

Chad Pennington is expected to miss 12 weeks with a dislocated and fractured left wrist he suffered in Saturday night's preseason game against the Giants, Jets coach Herm Edwards said Sunday.

However, sources within the organization told ESPN.com that the injury might sideline the Jets' starting quarterback for the entire season.

Doctors inserted seven pins into Pennington's wrist during surgery in New York late on Saturday. He's expected to wear a splint for the next week, then wear a cast for three-to-four weeks after that.

Edwards said that in addition to the dislocation, Pennington broke four bones that connect the knuckles to the wrist and also has ligament damage.

sports.espn.go.com...

So now Pennington and Vick are both out before taking one regular season snap, do you think coaches should sit their QB's in the preseason? I dont, I think they need the work with their receivers, you can practice all day long but its not the same as an actual game situation. Timing is everything.

Yea i mean these starting QB's are obviosly there choice to win...but why are they planning in Pre-season they should be giving the back-ups playing time so that when the Starting Q's get injuryed they are ready to replace them...if i was a coach i wouldn't even dare playing my top QB's in preseason.
