The new NHL season has begun and its straight in the middle of the playoffs for baseball, and in the midsts of an exciting football season. What can we except from this season of NHL? I haven't been able to catch any of the games but have read some articles of some news sites. It looks to be another exiciting year of hockey.

I just hope the Columbus Bluejackets continue doing well finally.

Ahh watch for the kids to dominate the show. Lots of skating and some fancy goals.

Yeah I know its almost 1/2 way through the season, but hey, I have been busy.

Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Lecavalier, Kovalchuk, Vanek, Heatly, and I probably could go on.

The Sabres are looking impressive. Putting up 5, 6, even 7 goals a game. That is hard to stop. And Anaheim is showing the NHL world what it is like to have 2 #1 defensemen on the same team. Niedermayer and Pronger have helped Anaheim to an unbelievable 62 points in 39 games. 11 total losses, 6 of which were in OT.

Look for 10 or more players with 100 points and possibly 5 players with 50 or more goals.

I also have a feeling that the NHL will continue to try and increase scoring in the years to come. The goalies are too good. They adapted to the new rules and are still able to make the unbelievable saves. Expect to hear lots of discussion about increasing the goal size throughout the rest of the season.
