espn has decided not to pick up it's option to televise nhl games next year, they could negotiate a deal to televise the games for less money when and if they play

this has got to hurt....the nhl needs every penny they can get their hands on

Can you blame ESPN? After cancelling the season, how many fans will be willing to embrace the NHL once again? The only thing that saved baseball was Ripkin. They have no story along those lines in the NHL, at least as far as I know of.
