It really depends on who you pick on the draft and how big they want it. A couple of players last year made a huge impact on the league. One was
clinton Portis for denver he had an outstanding year, and same with Shockey. If you find a diamond in the ruff like these players, they can have an
impact on the league right away, while other players it will take some time. The QB's will take a little longer to adjust. Harrington and Carr seem to
get the hang of it during the end of the season, should be fun to see where they are at this coming season. It all depends on who you pick in the
draft and what stops you have open for them.
Some of the WR's coming into this draft could make a huge impact on teams like the Lions and the Texans.
In hockey the draft is totally different it takes the players a lot longer to get the hang of it. That is why most of the rookies get sent down to the
farm clubs to build up their skills, unless they are very good, and they have an open spot to put them in to grow. It doesnt seem like their are as
many hockey players drafted as there are football players. Hockey players do take longer time, but then when the do come into the league and play as a
starter they make a impact. When they start of right from the draft they make an impact but not as great. Take Blackburn from the Rangers for example.
He is playing very solid goaltending right now, and he is only 19 years old and he already has a huge impact on the Rangers. He played in 18 staright
games during this season. Last year he spent most of his time in the Farm club building his skills and look at him now. It does take more time for
hockey players, but in the long run they have greater impact than football players.
