Baseball: Football debate

Where's the good debate in this forum? And why is the NFL not properly represented? There is way too many baseball postings. Yawn. Baseball is no longer America's pastime. Let's focus on a real sport, where they don't postpone games due to rain and the players don't throw their backs out while sneezing.

One of my favorite debates is: who is the greatest runner of all time? Now not running back. I am not talking about who the best all-around running back of all time is (although that is also a lively discussion). What I am referring to is the player with the best pure running ability. If you consider only a player's rushing ability, who is the best ever? Jim Brown? Barry Sanders? Eric Dickerson? Walter Payton?

Let's get a good debate going!

BTB, thanks for your input. Why don't you start a thread on who is the gratest runner of all time (in the football forum, please). I'll join in, when I get the chance (I don't currently have internet access at home, so I'm not on as much as I used to be). I am certain that others will too. And, you'll be surprised at the reaction that will come to the thread, I can guarantee it.
