Baseball: fleetcenter to be renamed "jeter center" for a day?

a manhatten lawyer has won the naming rights of bostons fleet center for a day on an ebay auction, he wants to name it the jeter center....what a glove to the face this would be for the red sox nation and a major step up for the rivalry between the sox and yankees

I just heard that they denied that guy's request to name it Jeter center for the day, claiming that it is obscene and vulgar. They should have seen this coming. :smug:

after the new york lawyer's boston friend upped the bid they both agreed on the name of "jimmy fund center" this of course is in reference to bostons famous cancer fund, they had a bit of fun with this and got a lot of publicity and in the end it all went to a great cause, some good things are still happening in the world
