The owner of Mickey Mantle's Restaurant on Central Park South has opted to temporarily change the name of his eatery to Ted Williams -- a former
Boston Red Sox star -- but only for the duration of the World Series, the New York Post reported.
Owner Bill Liederman was a longtime friend of the famed Yankee outfielder.
Peter Anastos, a restaurant manager, believes Mantle would have enjoyed the prank.
"Mickey Mantle was a prankster, and his kids would be laughing," Anastos told the Post.
Even diehard Yankee fans took the joke like good sports.
"They did it as a tribute to the right person," David Simmons told the Post
