The Chicago Cubs Tuesday acquired catcher Mike DiFelice from the Detroit Tigers for a player to be named later. The 35-year-old DiFelice will be
joining his fifth major league team since his debut in 1996. He has spent the majority of 2004 with Triple-A Toledo. In 13 games with the Tigers, he
hit a paltry .136.
DiFelice is a career .240 hitter with 28 home runs and 157 RBI.
The Cubs, who lead the NL wild card race going into Tuesday's action, currently have two catchers on their roster in Michael Barrett and Paul Bako.
