NEW YORK (Reuters) - Six New York transit workers are being treated for exposure to unknown fumes in the city's subway system, although officials say the incident is not terrorism related.

Emergency crews responded on Wednesday to reports of an odour on a subway track just before lunch, the day before the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday and while New York remained on the highest possible security alert since the September 11, 2001, attacks.

"There were negative results on anything radiological. No foul play is suspected," said John Odermatt, head of New York's Office of Emergency Management. "Six transit workers were being treated after being exposed to fumes."

NEW YORK (Reuters) - COMEX gold jumped to its highest price since March 1996 on Wednesday after strange fumes hospitalized six New York City subway workers, but safe-haven buying faded over $400 an ounce after police said the incident was not a terror attack.

Well someone made some good cash off of this event.
What will happen next to make money??

It also relates to this article:
www.worldnetdaily.com...

WASHINGTON Al-Qaida terrorists have developed a crude device designed to spread deadly cyanide gas through the ventilation systems of crowded indoor facilities such as subways, according to a closely held security directive issued to law enforcement by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and obtained exclusively by WorldNetDaily.

"Al-Qaida remains intent on using chemical or biological agents in attacks on the homeland," says the internal warning. "Terrorists have designed a crude chemical dispersal device fabricated from commonly available materials, which is designed to asphyxiate its victims."

I suppose if they were only hurt then they'll be fine, probably stuck their head in a vent or something.

This is probably nothing serious, but the fact that it happens when a warning about this type of threat is somewhat odd. Coincidence more than likely though.
