Is Larry Bowa is a moron?

Has he lost the plot?

In a game the other day he had Shawn Wooten, Doug Glanville, and Jason Michaels sitting on the bench. The game is in extra innings when you are supposed to be scrapping for runs. The time you need someone to step up to the plate and bat that run in... What does Bowa do?

He sends the relief pitcher up to bat (Amaury Telemaco). But he just doesn't do this once he does it twice. Well as we know it came back to jump up and bite him in the azz, as Jim Edmonds hit a walk-off homerun in the bottom of the 13th inning to win it for St. Louis.

After the talks earlier on as wether he should go, do you really have that much confidence in his decisions?

The reason he allowed Telemaco to hit is because after him they only had one pitcher left in the bullpen, closer Billy Wagner. He is only conditioned to pitch an inning or two so if they pulled Telemaco and the game continued in extra innings they might have had Jim Thome pitching, lol. What's with all the Bowa bashing?

Not bashing just picking up on things that are topical.

Seriously though Thome might have done a good job pitching..

To me i would have thought you take chances to win the game and pulling him might have won the game.

You've never seen Thome's fastball?

I see your point but I support his decision in keeping his pitcher in the game, not to mention how well Telemaco was pitching before he made the mistake to Edmonds.

What really hurt was the night before where Brett Myers was pulled after 3 innings for sucking and the bullpen had to cover the last 6 innings. They were already tired before this extra innings game.

i remember a pirates/braves game that was in extra innings and the pirates didn't have any pitchers left so the backup catcher hit the mound because he pitched in high school. well needless to say he got the win and i believe 2 strike outs, perhaps Thome should have pitched. and even if they still lost at least they'd have a valid excuse "we ran out of pitchers so Thome had to pitch", and it would have been alot of fun to watch. I like Larry Bowa, he has passion for the game (just look how many times he's been ejected) i'm sure in his mind it made sense. Go Larry.
