Baseball: 2004 Free Agents

Plenty of big free agents this year...who do you hope your favorite team signs or retains?


For me, I hope the Dodgers manage to keep Wilson Alvarez (started playing 2/3 of the way through the season and quickly managed a 5-1 record, very impressive). ESPN.com predicts the Dodgers get Tejada but I would much rather they get a left fielder....hopefully Guerrero (but who doesnt want him )

Bartolo Colon to the Angels, to help bolster that sorry starting rotation.

And Tim Worrell gets signed by the Phillies from the San Francisco Giants. It looks like the Phillies finally get their closer.

nice. The Phillies would have a lot more wins last year I'm sure if they had a closer like Worrel.

Actually, my bad, I forgot.

The Phillies traded for Billy Wagner earlier in the offseason.

So Worrell becomes the setup man here and the Phillies' bullpen has become doubly strong.

andy petitte went to houston today. what a grab by the astros. i was hoping the braves might have snatched him up. and has anyone heard the rumor that Smoltz might try being a starter again this year?

I've heard that's what he wants to do but the Braves don't want him to do that because he's turned into one of the most dominant closers in the game.
