possibly a brainwash story

my father is a doctor, and when he was a student, he and his class were taken to the mental institution in Russia to show them stuff, so there was one patitient, who killed a man in Moscow, my father asked him why did he kill him? and the guy told that, he had a dream that there was somebody living in Moscow named by some name that was coming to kill him, so he took a shotgun went to Moscow and found him first

i thought maybe he was brainwashed by some KGB or Russian CIA to kill somebody they needed
