Last night on 60 minutes a news person and a chemical specialist walked into a chemicla plant and wandered around for 15 minutes, got bored and left. Once they left the plant operations people stoped them. I would have said FU. They called the police and issued them a tresspasing citation $25.

The most dangrous chemical there was Bromine Triflouride. Which causes severe burns and is dangerous to inhale. These plants could use better security. It could be mandated by the federal government but the sad thing was. All the gates and stuff were unlocked. They could higher plant security people with guns to patrol the place or at the most put up cameras.

U.S. Plants: Open To Terrorists

Two years after Sept. 11, 60 Minutes found lax security at many U.S. plants containing deadly chemicals that, if sabotaged, could kill or injure millions. More...

So this is what it is coming to,

the entire country becoming a police state.

I have a solution,

threaten to nuke the bast**ds in the middle east.

maybe they will stand down.

maybe?

You know when anyone #ed with Russia, they would threaten us. Than we would have to take care fo things for them.

Its obvious this whole war on terror is being used to manipulate us but than look at how many unsuccessfull attempts were made to take out the world Trade Center had an attack when Clinton was president.

#ing Bush is an asshole. Made threats for like 3 months before attacking Saddams Regime. Were the #ing US. We dont need to warn people when we attack. We just start bombing. We should have bombed all of Saddams Palaces and stuff at once. Than sent in helicopters.

IF SADDAM HADN'T BEEN AIDED BY THE US IN THE WAR AGAINST IRAN THEN HE WOULDN'T BE IN THE POSITION HE WAS IN TO CAUSE THE PROBLEMS HE CAUSED.
And as a US citizen you voted in the people who aided Saddam, so it's YOUR fault.
How about the rest of the world just threatens to nuke you guys, will your foreign policies stop being so invasive?
No, you'll just say you're being treated unfairly and fight back, just like those "bastards" in the Middle East.
Every damn time I read dozens of well thought out posts by intelligent, thinking Americans, I come across garbage like the posts on here and it just spoils everything.
The US is not the center of the universe, the US has done some damn awful things in its time, the US does not have the right to just outright attack anyone it chooses for any reason it chooses, the US does not have the right to claim the rest of the world is ignorant, the US des not have the right to break international law, then ask for help in getting itself out of a bad situation it put itself in.

Bah, damn it.

I just love how the media shares things like this with us. Yes it is important to know that certain things are not as protected as they should be. Chemical plants, cargo on aircraft, etc. But is it really wise to let EVERYBODY know that we are lacking in these areas? Wouldn't it be better just to step up security and not inform everybody there is/was a problem?

You know 9/11 has achieved exactly what it was meant to. Americans are scared to death of just about everything now and it's pathetic.

Of course we supported Saddam over those wacky Iranians.

What would you have done?

That did not require Saddam to turn on us does it?

Where is the logic?

Are you still friends with everyone that you ever knew?

Do you not have family squabbles then make up again later on?

This kind of thing happens all over all the time at every level of human existance doesn't it?

Oh poor you, you expected Saddam to be all nice and wonderful?
If your intelligence agencies are really that gullible, no wonder your country is in the mess it is.

When did Saddam turn on us? He had nothing to do with 9/11

I always thought it was pretty stupid to show this stuff on tv. It's like saying,
"Hey, terrorists! Look what you can get away with!" As if they don't have enough of their own ideas already, let's give them some more and tell them how to do it step by step!

Sorry, not directed at YOU, OP, but the show itself. I understand that people should be informed, but on the other hand, why advertise what people can get away with?

It's kind of like when I was in the 5th or 6th grade and a cop came to our school to give a presentation as part of the DARE program. He went through all the typical 'say no to drugs' stuff and then displayed all sorts of bongs and crack pipes, etc and then showed us how they were used. Yep, tell us not to use drugs and then show us how.... pretty dumb, IMO.
