Compact Disc Set To Explode When Inserted

I find this report rather dodgey at best.

How could a CD be made to explode?
There's not enough energy in a CD drives laser to ignite any explosive I know of. the CD is too thin to build in a battery large enough to touch off a charge. There's no plastic explosive that I know of that could be convincingly disguised as a CD, yet still be powerful enough to do any serious damage.

In short, I call BS.

SO... if the report of an "explosive CD" has been faked, the important questions are "Who faked it?" and "Why?".

Cover up?
Set up?
Railroading?
Scapegoating?
Taking care of a loose end?

Something ain't right here.
