This game is, without a doubt, one of the best online games I've ever played. I'm not sure if a thread has already been started for this game or not
but I searched for one and couldn't find it.
Anyways, this game is basically like Battlefield except it's online-only and the gameplay is a little different. It's designed with a contemporary
tech. theme.
First of all, the game is free and available for download at www.warrocknet. It is designed to function for low and high-capacity computers so if
you're looking for state-of-the-art graphics, you won't find them in this game. But they are sufficiently good enough and I really think they're
pretty good considering even the lower-capacity PCs are able to run this game.
You start out with the standard assortment of maps except they're divided into three groups. The first group is strictly close-quarters
high-intensity fighting. The second group is a little bit bigger-scale with more open ground and vehicles. The third and last group (my favorite) is
for the large-scale battles that cover a lot of land and sea. There are tank fights on the ground at the same time as there are dogfights in the air.
It works the same as Battlefield in that you compete for flags to control key areas.
In War Rock, you also have the opportunity to advance up through the rankings via points earned in battle. With more points comes the ability to
purchase higher level weapons. Supposedly, you can also purchase via $$$ and just get the weapons that way but I have yet to find this feature. As
this is only the BETA version and they're working out bugs, but in the future, you will be able to purchse package memberships or just play the game
for free with a base membership.
Anyways, I just wanted to get the word out about this game for those of you who have not yet played it.... It's quickly catching on. Up until a few
days ago, you could log on to the NA server (west and east) or you could log on to the London server and play someone half-way across the world. Now,
they have regionalized the servers so that you can only log on to your particular location's server. As of a result, the amount of users available
for playing has seemingly gone down and I'm trying to get the message out there so more people join.
At any rate, please check out the game at www.warrock.net and see if you like it.
