The kind with electrodes that you stick on yourself.
Does anyone know if these are healthy?
I recieved one the other day. Whilst it feels good, I'm wondering if having eletrical currents sent through your muscles is wise.
I am especially thinking that it may cause an irregular heartbeat.
A TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator) unit is designed with low power and doesn't go very deep into your body. They advise people not
to put the electrodes across the heart "just in case", but normally it has no effect on the heart. Electricity will always take the path of least
resistance, in this case that path is just below the skin (transcutaneous).
