The recent murder of an outspoken journalist , the poisoning , and death of Alexander Litvinenko and now the allegations regarding the sudden collapse
of Yegor Gaidar, the leader of the Russian opposition party have redoubled suspicion that the Russian government and FSB are to blame .
But would the Russians really be so heavy handed ?
President Putin is certainly the bogey man d`jour , but could these attacks against Putins enemies really be a sophisticated false flag operation ?
intended to discredit Putin .
The mere accusations are certainly damaging Putins reputation at home and abroad , But who benefits ? is Putin really the victim of a hatchet job ?
Lastly , from way out in left field : is it reverse psychology , with Putin playing a dangerous game? – using his FSB to extract fast and brutal
retribution on enemies real or imagined – in such a heavy handed manner that they can safely claim “ we would never be so heavy handed “ . the
leaving of clues that point back at the FSB could actually be a bluff .
If the FSB really is behind it then standards have truly slipped .
