It would be a good idea, but as you pointed out, there is just one small problem.

Since by and large most members are complete strangers to one another it would be very difficult for there to be any real trust with the possession of anything that was basically co-owned by a number of members.

And if lets say we were all of a sudden bomberded with ufo's, I'm almost certain some kind of "virtual riot" would ensue over who should be able to use it, or have possession of it.

Well - it was submitted here more as a tongue-in-cheek idea. It'd doubtful ATS could muster the $135K anyway. But perhaps there's a 'deep pockets-type' on board that can step in. Naturally, we'd suggest the high donor retain control or designate a 'custodian' or team. I'm sure volunteers would step forward to house/maintain/deploy if desired - myself included.

Anyway - the equipment is available. Seems a shame it may not be used for such a worthwhile endeavor...

But with technology the way it is going new advances in nano machines, minitureization(sp) etc the more things a new device does the better. I mean look at the cingular blackjack device it does 5 things and it fits in the palm of your hand... and look at the xbox wii or playstation 3 better graphics and more memory and hard drive space... one day you might be able to have a ufo capture device which fits in your hand.
Also I wanted to know what evidence would you believe as PROOF that it is real.
one poloroid would make you believe? well i can debunk one poloroid as being a fake without much effort, and I bet lots of people can too. How much evidence would you need, how about if the aliens landed in the super bowl halftime show and came out of their ship/s would you believe then?
