Does anyone have any information other than what's been officially published on the internet about the Army's new Special Mission Unit (SMU)? I know it will fall under the 20th Support Command based out of Fort Meade, MD and that they will conduct team selection and a tactical training course that is supposed to focus on advanced pistol and rifle marksmanship, evasive driving, demolitions, catastrophic crime scene investigation, guerilla warfare tactics, etc. at FT A.P. Hill, VA. I know that the unit is structured and modeled similar to SFOD-D (Delta Force).

It seems to be evolving from the IED Task Force. Here's what i found, in case you hadn't seen this...it's from 2004 and 2005. Seems there's a few in the ranks that aren't all that impressed with it.

Mostly old information, but thanks anyway. I posted this question hoping to get responses from actual team members. After thoroughly reading most topics and sub-topics on these forums, I guess this is not the right place for this question. I'll look elsewhere.
