Once again FF you chime in with the voice of reason as did Forest Lady. Fundamentalist of any flavor scare the crap out of me. As far as pagans not being recognized not completly true. At the prison I work at it is recognized and inmates are free to practice it and indeed hold their rituals when their faith calls for it. Also for the record I've never heard of Wiccans/pagans causing any harm in the name of their faith. I have however, heard uninformed people refer to them as devil worshippers which isn't true at all.

they get what they want, because its a lobby. and the lobby represents a big portion of the population.

sure...you could scream foul, get money out of politics, and stuff like that.
you would be right too. but, that isn't how it works.

lobby gives money...politician get takes money, and promises vote...writes a bill...passes the money and promised favors around....gathers the vote...a vote is called...and presto! a law is born.

it has nothing to do with what the individual who practices Christianity believes. they just give with blind faith, because some guy in a sharp suit said they would do what's best with it.

you know what the biggest problem is?
the amount of people that this so-called small group contains
it's about 1/4 of the american population

that scares me
1/4 of the population can influence a lot


and, if there is ever a situation of massive political and social instability, that 1/4 is ready to raise up arms in the name of jesus.....

50% of the population is protestant. Of that 50% protestant population how many are actually fundamentalists? Baptists, Church of Christ, Ind. Bible Churches, non church attending fundamentalists.

I don't know if they actually make up 1/4 of the population. That's interesting. We'll have to do some math and look ...

Good thinking. Go to godless Europe, where Islamofascist Fundamentalists don't worry about running youth camps and preaching. Why try to influence the opposition when you can blow them up on a bus?

When was the last time you saw a Muslim doing actual outreach? Christians sometimes go door-to-door, passing out tracts. You have the Gideons who place Bibles in hotel rooms. Churches who welcome anyone to attend and who hold community events to attract the public.

And then Muslims go to the supermarket and blow up a small crowd. It's a backward doctrine and accomodating it won't get us anywhere.

Now Bill Frisk passes a bill to stop online poker.
He was trying to boost up votes for Republicans. Right wing Christians where writing and trying to ban online gambling. 15,000 got it banned. Never mind that a million play it.

This is why Christians scare me. They think they know whats best for eveyone.

That bill was not intended to save the ... "morality" of Christians...

What it actually did was........ get ready for it...

Help Vegas and the many other Casinos all over the country, including Atlantic City, Indian owned casinos, river boats etc.

Big bucks with the casinos.. I have a feeling they where tired of online casinos taking the money, money pushes power, and Congress is easily swayed by it.

1:you say godless like it's such a bad thing
2: islamic fundamentalists (they aren't fascist because they are far from a unified movement) make up a tiny tiny minority in most european countries
hell, you don't actually know what country i'm talking about, you're making a sweeping generalization about both a whole group and how every member of that group acts in every single country in that continent

and 1 more thing, islam is a 1.9 billion person religion

islamic doctrine does not force conversion on all people "of the book" (that means christians and jews)
islam is passively open
