I came on and saw the "What to get her" thread and thought someone had saved me writing this.

I'm a student and therefore Christmas is going to have to be funded on a budget. I'm going to agree with my girlfriend a fixed budget to enable me to buy presents for my relatives.

So I wanted to ask the users of this forum for some decent ideas of what I can make my girlfriend.

My ideas so far are:

A CD.
A poem.
Some 'IOU vouchers', for things unmentionable here
.
A book from a charity shop (its the thought that counts
).

So what do you lot think?

I wanted to start early this year instead of rushing around on Chrismas Eve trying to find some good things. Other people stuck for presents are also invited to use this thread to help them get ideas for presents for loved ones.

Thanks in advance,
Yours sincerely,
Byhiniur.

Well, what I'd do is write a poem, and turn it into a song,
and record it on a CD, and give it with her favorite flowers
and some seasonal chocolates.

All relatively affordable.

Really it just depends if you're a good writer and a good singer.

Nice idea about turnin the poem into a song... shame my voice would be more suited for a halloween song.

Personally I don't like gettin people perishable things as presents, and I keep flowers in reserve for when I mess up anyways. However, is it easy to make chocolate?

How come when I edit this post it deletes what I've added? Anyways, for the second time... I went on google, not possible to make my own chocolate but it is reasonably simple to make chocolate truffles. There are loads of recipes for different tastes. I suppose it'll take some practice to get the taste right but it'll be fun in a way.

The sites a bit lame, "Wrap with a gold ribbon and a matching gift tag for giving. If serving the truffles after dinner, place the small foil cups on a doily lined plate.". Lol. But I'll try it out soon.

i have found it to be relativly easy to find gifts for the women in my life really unless they are overly materialistic all you need to do is pay attention to what they like. now me personally the greatest gift i ever recieved was a keychain that had related to a story i had told someone earlier in the year in that one little gift showed me just what i meant to them.
