So if you had the chance for a "do-over", an opportunity to choose exactly what era you could live in, what would it be ? Or are you content with the present ?

(I'm refining it to post 1900's)

I personally would love to have experienced the 1930's, I probably would've been involved with bootlegging :w: but hey at least I'd have an excuse to wear a Fedora on a day to day basis.

How bout you ?

The 1980s. Yes I know some of the music was "cheesy" but everything just seemed so new and fun back then. Like one big party going on all the time.

Sorry, but I would have to go farther back. There are 3 periods that do it for me.
The era of the Couer de Bois. French trappers that "became more Indian than the Indians". I would have been one of them.

1830's-1850's The peak of the fur trade era.

1880's the peak of "the wild west".

these eras all shared a certain set of values that I find lacking today. They also lacked
a group that today I feel there is an over abundance of.

THIS time period has the best medicine so I'd have to pick now.

However, if I could be garunteed perfect health so i didn't have to worry about it, and supernatural abilities with language and communications -

I'd go back to Ancient Egypt to the peak of it's power.

I'd go back to the time of the Spartans at the peak of their power.

I'd go to the time of Christ and visit with the Holy Family just prior to Christ turning the water into wine at the wedding feast. That way I'd get some great one-on-one time with them before He was too popular to be able to get close to.

England 1200s and 1400's.

I'd go back to the 1850-60s in the North East part of the USA.

I'd go back to the 1880s old West in America.

But just for visits ... I think living NOW in the USA is the best time and place because of medicine advancements and the freedom of information flowing across the world.

I do know that I would'nt go back any further than about 1920, before women had the right to vote or before the 19th amendment was passed.

My other choice would be the 1950's, so I could see the rise of rocknroll.

Just to see how many new age theorists are tight, I'd love to go back to 12000 BC.
It would also let me know if the biblical view is corect =) for then the Earth wouldn't exist yet would it?

I'd love to go back to the medieval ages. The history about it fascinates me, it would be great to see it first hand.

I'd want to go back to Victorian England in the mid-1800's at the height of the scientific and engineering 'renaissance'...most of all to work with one of the great engineers such as Brunel, Telford or Stephenson

Am I the only that thinks nowadays it's the best era for be living on?
For real, I always liked history and everything related to it (wars, market crashes, revolutions, etc) but I really think that, despise the fact that is 99 x more violent and faster, this is the best era to be living in.

Many say we are living the apocalypse too so, can it get more exciting?

1950's and 60's for me, thanks.

Just everything about that time was amazing, and to go back with the understanding I have of it now, itd just be the greatest.
