Dumbest Ad On TV?

Down here in the southland, we are now seeing the dumbest ad ever on tv!

It is the Rhino pickup bed liner company. It shows a man well dressed in protective clothing, being dragged behind a pickup. I don’t know how that sight is supposed to prompt me to take my F150 down to the Rhino dealer and get $15 worth of gunk sprayed on my truck in a half hour for $499.

The potentially dangerous ad begins with the sincere admonition not to try this at home. Wow! As if none of this audience on its own would have come up with the idea of hauling a grumpy neighbor behind his pickup a couple miles down a gravel road. I suppose Rhino’s lawyers will say this disclaimer renders then not liable or responsible for the next poor soul who gets that treatment. Like James Byrd, Jr. R.I.P.

Here in the US (in the south at least), we have this rediculous ad that shows this woman smearing some type of deodorant or something on her face.
The announcer just keeps repeating:
"Head On! Apply Directly to the forhead".

Its retarded. It never once during the commercial says what the product does or what its for.

Whenever I see it, it makes me want to throw a brick through my TV.
I hate it.

There were a few instances where angry viewers shot their tvs. it is hard to understand.

I don't know about the advertisement for Rhino Liners, but I can vouch for the product. It's first rate protection for you truck bed. Frankly, I think they should put that stuff on cars. It'd sure make keyed finishes and other minor blemishes a thing of the past.

Ive heard before about people who shot their televisions. I totally understand. If I owned a firearm, I would be likely to discharge it toward "yonder glowing box" either during:

a. The head on commercial

or

b. George W Bush failing once again to string together a coherent sentence. (this also pisses me off to no end)

The green tennis balls. The ad makes no sense. I nominate it to be the dumbest ad on tv today.

majority of the ones we get to see on the US military network here while overseas. I think mostly because they can't afford to advertise the usual stuff so they act in and make their own *sigh*

Especially the terrorism ones :bnghd:

I think even the Head On people agree with you, now they're making fun of their own commercial. It starts out like normal but then someone walks on the screen screaming something like "Head On! I hate your commercials, but I love your product!"

The new Office Depot ad with hand is now the worst! It's like "Thing" from the Addams Family!

I think they were trying to come up with a gimmick to beat Staples' easy button, but they fell far from the mark!

The one T.V. ad that I cannot stand is the one for Relacore. Next to the Head On ad I think it's the most annoying one there is.

The UPS whiteboard ads are horrible too...that guy is so annoying. Another one I hate is that Zetia commercial with cooking healthy chef show.
