Fastow of Enron fame has just been assigned to a country club prison in Louisiana. His sentence has been set at six years. The question is this is this justice? His actions have cost thousands people their retirements. He and Skillings, Ken Lay et. al. have done greivious harm to large numbers of people. There are people in US prisons who have had far less effect on their victims lives than the previous mentioned troika. What actually determines how penalties are arrived at? There seems to be a chasm between white collar crime and more conventional crimes. Is it too much to ask for some equality when sentencing?
